A hive makes far more than honey.

Honey, propolis, royal jelly, pollen, bee bread and wax. Raw, derived, as a supplement and as cosmetics. Honey came first because it was the most urgent thing to fix, but it was never the only thing. Behind all of it sits the same accountable comarca, the same standards and the same rigour.
What we do

Four specialities. One hive at the origin!

We start from the raw material and build up from there. Each level demands more technology, more know-how and more dedication; and none of them can afford to lose what made the original material valuable.

Raw

Monofloral and multifloral honey, pollen, bee bread, raw propolis and wax. The hive as it is, with the least possible intervention.

Derivatives

Extracts, tinctures, compound honeys and preparations. This is where transformation begins ... and the requirement to lose nothing on the way.

Bee supplements

Pollen, propolis and royal jelly in constant-dose formats. Beekeeping tradition with the precision of a modern supplement.

Bee cosmetics

Wax, honey, propolis, royal jelly and bee venom applied to the skin. One of the oldest cosmetic traditions there is, to a contemporary standard.

WHY MELISA

Four promises that set us apart

In the European Commission’s border controls, 46 % of imported honey samples were found suspected of non-compliance with the European honey directive. We do it the other way round: every batch is traced back to the hive it came from, with its laboratory analysis behind it.
Data: European Commission, coordinated action «From the Hives». 320 samples taken at the border between November 2021 and February 2022; results published in March 2023.
01

A single origin

Every batch comes from one apiary and one flowering. We never blend origins and never add cheap industrial or foreign honey.
02

Straight from the beekeeper

We buy directly from the beekeeper, with no mixed-origin bulk. That is how we set the harvest standard and can answer for the origin of every batch.
03

Raw and alive

We settle it cold and never heat it above 38 °C. It is honey as it was before industry learned how to spoil it.
04

Traceable quality

Purity and halal suitability without alcohol, across the whole range and not only in the honey. Every honey also carries its pollen report and its analysis.
JAR OF THE MONTH

French lavender honey

From French lavender (Lavandula stoechas), the shrub that turns the Mediterranean scrub violet as spring begins. Pale amber and very aromatic, with the balsamic note of the labiates and a long, clean finish. It crystallises finely and naturally over time.
Spring flowering · Limited edition
When they run out, there will be no more until the following spring.
Traceability

The batch code tells you everything

«Origin Spain» is not traceability, it is geography. Ours goes batch by batch. Type in the code on the label and you will see which comarca it came from, who harvested it and what its analysis says. It works the same for a jar of honey, a bottle of propolis or a tub of pollen.
HMF: it gives away heat and time. It tells you whether a honey has been mistreated, and that is why almost nobody publishes it.
Moisture: it governs how it keeps and its texture. Ours is always below the legal limit.
Pollen profile: it confirms that a rosemary honey really is rosemary.

Our origins

From all over Spain ... and from wherever something exceptional grows

We work with beekeepers in the most biodiverse regions of Spain, from north to south and from the coast to the high mountains. And when a rare honey deserves to cross a border, we bring it: scarce and highly prized harvests from other countries, selected by the same criteria and put through the same analysis.
